For Entertainment Purposes Only

On Friday, January 21, I will be launching two new daily newsletters connected to spirituality.

The first is Daily Miracles, containing observations during my journey through the 365 lessons of the modern spiritual classic A Course in Miracles.

I've read authors and listened to podcasts inspired by A Course in Miracles, but I've never actually gone through the lessons. I invite you to join me.

Each day the newsletter will quote the day's lesson with a link back to the workbook for its own commentary and instructions. I will provide my own brief commentary which will take 1-2 minutes to read. When you're subscribed, you'll have access to the full archive so you can resume at your convenience if you miss some days.

I have no agenda but I think you'll enjoy reading my thoughts. I recommend you to subscribe for entertainment purposes only.

The second newsletter is Daily Bible Chapter

I've been wanting to reread the Bible through fresh eyes and with no preconceived notions. As fresh as my eyes can be. And, I want to read it as a story, and am determined not to get ahead of myself. For instance, if I try to make sense of a chapter, I won't try to interpret it by what I know comes later on. I'll assume my readers don't know.

I might go back and forth between a couple of different English translations, but I won't  say anything  like "this verse was mistranslated" in order to impose my opinion onto the text. What do I know about translations? I'm not doing this to make theological points. Rather, my intent is to understand the Bible for myself without others telling me what it's supposed to mean. This article hints at how I will approach it.

The daily commentary on the day's chapter will usually take 2-3 minutes to read. Of course, that's in addition to actually reading the Bible chapter yourself, which I would recommend. BibleGateway.com is the place I recommend to read your preferred translation online if you don't have a Bible handy.

Like Daily Miracles, Daily Bible Chapter is for entertainment purposes only. I invite you to join me

There are 1,189 chapters in the Bible. I might do two or more chapters on some days, but this will still take years to complete. You can jump on and off when you want, and when you're subscribed you'll have access to the full archives.

Speaking of subscriptions…

If you don't want to pay anything, just send a request to my email address (below)  and I'll get you subscribed to both newsletters unless you specify one. If you like what you read, please circulate and share it!

Or, you may make a donation of ANY amount, and I'll get you subscribed to both newsletters unless you specify one in your payment note.

On both projects, I'm several days ahead of the launch dates, but not very far ahead. Over the next seven days I'll provide preview snippets from both newsletters to give you a taste of what you're in for.

Also, at this point I don't know what percentage of the newsletters will be public and what will be subscriber-only. The first month for both newsletters could be mostly or entirely public. If you enjoy them, I hope you spread the word!

Again, you can set your own subscription price here

Thanks for reading and for your support. This will be fun.
